The best indicator of a society’s development is the strength of those on the margins. For years, Olympic Center Jahorina has been promoting the idea of inclusion and understanding.

For the firs time, in Republic of Srpska, the issue of employment for youth with Down syndrome is being addressed.

As a participant in this ambitious project, Olympic Center Jahorina will establish a special business unit that will employ individuals with Down syndrome. The Jahorina Olympic Center and the Down Syndrome Center Banja Luka have successfully collaborated for many years. We are especially proud of our common initiatives, through which these wonderful people had the opportunity to visit Jahorina, enjoy the natural beauty our mountain offers, and participate in all our activities.

By hosting these young people in the beautiful Jahorina, we have recognized the importance of nature as an inspiring environment for their growth and development. Nature has the power to unleash creativity and stimulate positive emotions.

We are extremely happy and proud, to not only provide social rehabilitation but, also offer these young individuals an opportunity to gain professional skills. They will be employed as room attendants, laundry workers, janitors, fruit pickers, gardeners, and plant harvesters. We believe that their energy will fill the entire Jahorina and that their genuine smiles will brighten the stay of many visitors on this mountain.

It’s not so important what these people cannot do, but what they know and can do!

They are true inspiration to all of us. Their perseverance and dedication transform our culture and society, opening doors for better understanding and justice. The strength of their spirit reminds us that every prejudice we break down makes the world a more tolerant place for all of us. May their courage serve as inspiration to confront ignorance and build a society where every person is valued and respected.
