A magic ring around the Drina

The news that the Jahorina Olympic Center is taking over the management of the Andrićgrad tourist complex in Višegrad has attracted a lot of attention from the entire region. After the Olympic revival of Jahorina, the management of the Olympic Center Jahorina, led by the director Dejan Ljevnaić, will get a new challenge, and that is to revive Andrićgrad, another “sleeping beauty” of the Republic of Srpska. On this occasion, director Ljevnaić said: “Our goal is to create a tourist region from Jahorina, through Tara, to Zlatibor, and for Andrićgrad and Mećavnik to be connecting factors.” The plan is for people who spend seven days on Zlatibor, Tara or Jahorina to spend two days in Andrićgrad. Also, we have a common idea with the municipality of Bajina Basta to start the realization of the Gondola project from Perućac to Mitrovica and in that way to complete the magic ring around the Drina, with the gondola to Perućac, and then by boat to Andićgrad. When we started to prepare the development project of this region, we found a large number of opportunities for development, now we are in the planning and analysis phase. What I concluded is that during the time of the old Yugoslavia, very little was invested in this part of the current Republika Srpska and Serbia, and that is the biggest advantage for us now, because we have untouched and beautiful natural treasures, with huge potential for development. As I believed in Jahorina, so I believe that we will make this region the biggest tourist attraction in Europe. ”

Director Dejan Ljevnaić added that this is not the only project outside the territory of Jahorina: “We have the honor of adopting the initiative to build the ski center Igrište near Vlasenica.” A year ago, my team made the Development Project of the ski center of the Playground, elaborated in detail by phases and investments, and the Government of the Republic of Srpska adopted that Project. At the Shareholders’ Assembly, we formed the Igrište Business Unit and are now working diligently to prepare investments. I am very impatient to realize these projects, because in this way we will create a new dimension in the development of skiing and enable the local population to live better. We expect tourists from all over eastern BiH and western Serbia at Igrišta. It is symbolic that we are again near the Drina River and that the Drina River, which has so far symbolized the border, will be a symbol of merger and development after the realization of investments in Andrićgrad and at Igrište. “
