December 27, 2020New Year’s skiing on Jahorina
December 30, 2020An amazing Slovenian, Luka Kovačič conquered the highest mountain peak of Jahorina Ogorjelica in only 16m 35s, which leads us to the conclusion that the epithet miraculous really suits him. The length of the track, on which giant slalom races took place at the ’84 Olympic Games, from the Termag Hotel to the roof of Jahorina, is 2110 m long with a height difference of 374 m was another challenge for this young mountain (trail) runner.
The young runner Luka Kovačič was in Sarajevo with his family more than 10 years ago, and since then he has had the desire to come again and visit the beautiful mountains around the city. His wish came true in mid-December. In three days, he ran to the peaks of Bjelašnica, Trebević and Jahorina, and sprinted up the large ski jump on Igman.
“Compared to Bjelašnica, this trail is milder, but that does not mean that it is easier. “Since it’s not so steep, I had to go ‘full throttle’ all the way,” Luka revealed after conquering the top of Jahorina.
After conquering the top of the mountain, Luka had the opportunity to get to know the other contents of OC Jahorina, enjoy the most beautiful panorama, tastes and smells of the Olympic Bar, which is located near the roof of Jahorina. The initial organizer of the event is Red Bull, our dear partner who worked with us to make Luka fully enjoy the charms of the Bosnian mountains.
