The champion of winter tourism – Olympic center “Jahorina”

International Center for Tourism and Hospitality Development – Sacen International awards every year the most successful in tourism and hospitality in South East Europe. The award ceremony of the 31^st ”Golden Tourist Heart” award was held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, in Skadarlija. Besides Serbia, the patrol of this center visited Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Tunisia, Malta, Greece, after which the international jury elected the best in tourism. Champion of winter tourism is the Olympic Center “Jahorina”.

The planned management strategy of OC Jahorina, headed by Mr. Dejan Ljevnaić, led to a recognizable brand that has improved winter tourism in the Republic of Srpska, BiH and Southeast Europe in two years. More than 2 million rides were made on the trails on which the latest artificial snowmaking system was built, which guarantees minimum 120 days of snow on Jahorina. With Jahorina’s flourish, OC Jahorina’s revenues increased by 170%, as well as the inflow into other branches of economy, what has made  Jahorina, the city of East Sarajevo and this part of the Republic of Srpska very interesting for new investors and large investments.

” Golden Tourist Heart “is a significant recognition awarded to OC Jahorina, this is the first recognition outside the borders of the Republic of Srpska, which is a sign that Jahorina has become recognized by tourists from Serbia and the work is valued “,  proudly said the director OC Jahorina, Mr. Dejan Ljevnaić. On this occasion, Mr. Ljevnaić added that “OC Jahorina continues its work and investments, so that for the next winter season it is planned to build a new 10-seat gondola which will make Jahorina become number one in the region, and already for the upcoming summer season, all who arrive on Jahorina will be able to feel an adrenalin ride by a mountain bobsled with the length over 2 km. ”
