In recent years Pale have experienced a rapid development, so numerous sports sprung, cultural and business facilities sprung in Pale. Pale is a university, travel, sports and cultural center of the Republic of Srpska, with about 30 000 inhabitants.

In Pale, one can find a large number of shops, cafes and restaurants. Most of them are concentrated in the center of Pale around the Olympic Park and the Olympic flake which is a symbol of the town on Miljacka. Cultural and religious landmarks in Pale that are worth mentioning are Church of Dormition of the Holy Virgin, St. Josip’s catholic church and house of the Cekovic’s. Out of natural sites in the municipality of Pale what is worth visiting is Orlovača cave which is one of the most beautiful in the region. There is also one of the longest caves in Europe – the cave of Mokro Miljacka spring, which is ideal for extreme tourism because of its depth of explored channels is around 7 km. There is also Novak’s cave named after the famous outlaw Starina Novak.
