Olympic Center Jahorina officially started the artificial snow making system

The historic moment of the Olympic mountain of Jahorina was ceremoniously marked today by the official launching of the artificial snow making system on the plateau of Poljice. The official ceremony was attended by the Minister of Trade and Tourism in the Government of RS, Mr. Predrag Gluhaković, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of OC Jahorina, Mr. Nedeljko Elek and Director of OC Jahorina, Mr. Dejan Ljevnaić. From now on, Jahorina officially guarantees safety in snow and skiing on 40 km of well-prepared tracks for at least 120 days during the year.

On this occasion, the director of OC Jahorina, Mr. Ljevnaić, said: “It is a great honor and pleasure to witness this historical moment for the Olympic Center Jahorina, the moment of the ceremonial opening of the snow making system. The artificial snow making system is one of the most important projects implemented at the Olympic Jahorina, and today’s opening ceremony and concert Ceca Raznatovic, which follows, represents the crown of its turn and closes with it one cycle of investments that we have implemented over the past year. Today I can proudly say that Jahorina literally returned Olympic glory, that we worked hard every day and achieved enviable results. This year too, with the special enthusiasm of the skiers, we are the first in the region to open the ski season, more than 300 skiers skied today on Jahorina trails, which is the greatest pleasure and praise for us. The value of ski tickets on Jahorina was dramatically increased by the signing of a mutual cooperation agreement with ski resorts in Slovenia and Serbia, while the price remained the same, everything we did was done with the goal that all our guests and all skiers on arrival at Jahorina can feel like being at  best-ranked world ski centers. ”

Minister of Trade and Tourism, Mr. Gluhaković said that after 35 years in Jahorina, all tourists can be guaranteed snow and skiing, for which the former President of the Republic of Srpska and the current Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik  is greatly appreciated, along with employees of the Olympic Center Jahorina.

“This is the happiest moment, not only for us from the Srpska Government, but also for citizens living in this area. We all want to have the benefits of this and a guarantee that tourists when they come can safely ski, which was our goal, “Gluhakovic emphasized.

Jahorina is preparing a good party at the upcoming musical spectacles, tonight’s concert of Svetlana Ražnatović, on 15.12. at the concert of Crvena Jabuka and 29.12. at the New Year’s concert of Lepa Brena, and guarantees excellent skiing, well prepared trails and a lot of surprises during the new ski season to all visitors.
