Jahorina is located in a series of Dinar mountains that stretches in northwest-southeast direction and with their wreath they make a border between the Adriatic sea and the hinterland. Due to this position Jahorina is a place where warm Mediterranean air masses collides with cold continental ones due to which there is a large amount of snowfall. In summer, Jahorina is covered with green grass, and in winter there is snow up to 3m high. Average number of days with snow on Jahorina is 175, from October to May. Ten year average height of snow in February is 106cm. Snow cover on Jahorina is being formed at the end of October and is kept up to May.
