June 21, 2019A meeting was held yesterday in East Sarajevo between the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Milorad Dodik, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Mr. Radovan Višković and the Director of the Olympic Center Jahorina, Mr. Dejan Ljevnaić. Dodik, Višković and Ljevnaić talked about Jahorina, the ongoing investments and the presentation of Jahorina in the world as an example of good practice of Republika Srpska. Jahorina has been one of the biggest construction sites in the Republic of Srpska in the last three years, after the completion of the first cycle of investments, which included the arrangement of the tracks and the construction of artificial snowmaking systems on this mountain, serious investment projects are currently underway. With more than 30 million BAM invested in Jahorina, the full potential of this mountain is yet to be revealed.
With the support and assistance of the Chairman of the Presidency and the Government of the Republic of Srpska, the Olympic Center are working hard on the construction of the first Cabin Gondola, along which it is planned to build additional 3 km of new trails and covering them with artificial snow as well. The project of Gondola and the construction, arrangement and modernization of the associated ski trails is extremely important for Jahorina. By realizing this project ,besides the comfort, it will eliminate the crowds of skiers in the winter tourist season, the central trails on the mountain will be unburdened and the gondola will work in extreme conditions when there are strong winds and fog. The cabin gondola, which will bw constructed by Leitner Company, will be operating when other installations cannot be which was one of the main preconditions for construction and guidance when this investment was planned. The replacement of the old ski lift at Poljice is also underway with the new T-bar ski lift from Dopplmayer Company, which will increase the installation capacity by 4 times. It is also planned to replace and modernize a complete system of charging services that will improve and speed up the passing of skiers on the gates, as well as the installation of new gates and equipment at the base lifts, as well as the first online shop for online tickets. Among summer contents, the construction of the longest alpine coaster in this part of Europe, which will also be the biggest summer attraction on Jahorina, is in preparation. The planned route is 2,2 km and will move from top to the foot of the mountain, passing through the most attractive areas of the Olympic Mountain. At the base station of the alpine coaster there is an the artificial lake, a catering facility is being built and the proper surroundings around the lake is being arranged ambiently allowing the guests to enjoy the very top of Jahorina with accompanying facilities for children and adults. An entirely new project that will contribute to the safety of the mountain is the illumination of trails, kindergartens and lakes with a total length of 4 km. The construction of an outdoor gym very close to the sports grounds of the Olympic Center Jahorina is also one of the news that will especially satisfy athletes and active holiday lovers.
